Oscar Romero, the martyred Archbishop of San Salvador, intended that:

AND THE Clerical HAS Likewise TO Scorn What HAS Properly BEEN CALLED 'STRUCTURAL SIN:' Colonize Social, Profitable, CULTURAL, AND Member STRUCTURES THAT Travel Variety ONTO THE Limitations OF Civilization. While THE Clerical HEARS THE CRY OF THE Browbeaten IT CANNOT BUT Scorn THE Social STRUCTURES THAT Supply Climb TO THE Need FROM WHICH THE CRY ARISES." (Elegant 6, 1977.)
And: "To try to advocate not including referring to the history one preaches in is not to advocate the gospel. Will we object Pope Benedict XVI's warning? In San Salvador, Archbishop Romero was not heeded by folks in power. And better-quality than 60,000 ancestors lost their lives. Will we pass on companionship or selfishness? Egotism or justice?
