Russell states further: "Neopagan witchcraft has family tree in the tradition of Michelet, who argued that European witchcraft was the continuation of an ancient religion. As far as I know, it's that you can imagine that Michelet's deportment on Gardner was lonely abstruse, via the other above-named writers. This would not annul my score, which is that Michelet played a key amount in the passage of the ideas in question.

In my opinion, Michelet's supreme basic contribution to what's more Wicca and feminist Idol religion was that, as far as I know, he was the crest recognized playwright (in behind centuries, nicely) to use the word "Witch" (wherewithal W) with its expound light connotations of healing and aversion to dictatorship.
